It's definetly not a deal breaker considering the speed of the wireless, but it's there if you want/need it. Hooroo :-) but thats just it if it does not do as advertised its nether perfect or worth the money or time and i would suggest anyone who gets one of this and believes they have been mislead by the non functionality return it rather than put up with what i obviously sub standard quality but thats just it if it does not do as advertised its nether perfect or worth the money or time and i would suggest anyone who gets one of this and believes they have been mislead by the non functionality return it rather than put up with what i obviously sub standard quality But it does do what is advertised and I am an extremely happy customer. And to change to usb 3.0, it's as easy as ticking a check box and waiting 1 min for the modem to be in usb 3.0 mode. For the record I have not noticed a drop in 2.4ghz wifi performance when in usb 3.0 mode. And worse case scenario there is still 5ghz wifi at full speed. I agree people should be aware of it, but it doesn't need fixing. If you feel mislead, then fair enough don't buy it – One person being misled doesn't mean that it is sub standard quality. Damn this item would look fantastic sitting on the desk, simply too good to hide it away. However not knowing anything about recent modems I wanted to do some research. Will the wireless range be good enough for a single story 4 bedroom house? It gave me an extra 300Kbps over my old Dynalink – I only get 7424Kbps max. I managed to connect once to adsl2 (never ever been able to do this before) and I got over 9000Kbps, but once I disconnected, i could not reconnect so will stick with for a while Local wireless is very fast at 2.4G and 5G and the range very good.If a product works and provides a reliable connection throughout your place of residence (not a Billion product, go figure) then please don't confuse a Fanboy with factual consumer responses, it just confuses them immensely :) Considering I also have a 7800NXL that means I'll be bashing myself for spending the money on this product, instead of the 2890AL. Hooroo :-) Hi there, Yes, having built-in torrent download software is possible and it is a future possibility.Where the HELL where you Zaman H, three months ago with this product? Or do most modem/routers of similar spec, not have enough processing power and/or memory? Usually it is a memory limitation as higher priority needs to be given to other features/functions of the modem router.

ASUS USB-N53 uses 2x2 Broadcom via USB 2.0, ASUS PCE-AC66 uses 3x3:3 Broadcom 4360 as do many AC routers but the card supposedly has a compatibility issue with Z87 that is fixed with the unreleased to ANZ AC68 D-Link currently does not market a 3x3:3 AC adapter, hence we went to a second source, ASUS for Wi Fi AC evaluation purposes. Not all AC router platforms have USB 3.0 Super Speed, let alone 2 USB ports. USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt are a pain to implement RF/EMI wise.

This is especially evident if you look at some of Intel's datasheets.
